NYLA 2006 Conference Report

• Excellent concert by Richard Shindell at Caffe Lena. If you ever get the chance to hear this guy, do it. Although he sometimes appears with a band, at Lena's it was just him and his Taylor T5. He played for 2 straight hours, performing his own songs for the most part. But he led off with a timely rendition of Pete Seeger's "Waist Deep in the Big Muddy." The intimate setting made for a wonderful evening.
  
  
• There's an fine new coffee shop in downtown Saratoga Springs called Saratoga Coffee Traders. All of their coffees, teas and espressos are 100% organic, fair-trade and shade-grown. They have a wireless connection, too!
