Perks

The perks of being a librarian keep getting better and better. Recently I helped a patron find an article from our local newspaper's online archive. Both she and her husband had searched unsuccessfully. She was so thrilled when I found it that she brought in a plate of brownies for me, which of course I shared with my colleagues. One of the most satisfying aspects of working in a library are the "thank you's" from the patrons. A comment like, "That book you helped me find what exactly what I was looking for!" can make my whole week. This is the first time I've gotten brownies, though. Now if I can just get someone to give me some Peets!
