The two new teen computers will be set up soon, perhaps today. They'll be in the two carrells behind the paperback rack near the Information Desk. They do not have Internet access on them, only the games we've loaded. They are for use by those 12 years old and over.

Teens will sign up at the Labman signup station. They should click the button titled, "Teen PC...No Internet". Signup normally. Appointments are one hour long. At the end of the hour the computer restarts. Games cannot be saved. Once the computer restarts, the game will have to be started again from the beginning.

The icons for the games appear on the desktop. Click twice on the icon to start the game.

Volume is set at a predetermined level. It can be turned down but not any higher. If necessary, get headphones from the lab signup desk. Teens can also use their own headphones.

There are binders at each carrell with information about each game's controls. Librarians are not expected to know how to play the games. Refer the teen to the binder. There are no joysticks for these computers. If teens ask about them, we may get them in the future.

Do not turn the computers off at the end of the day.

If you need to restart, press and hold the power button on the front of the computer.

As Linda mentioned in the reference meeting, this is an experiment. Please let us know what problems you run into or any suggestions you have.
