Daveman was in California last week, visiting family and taking a break from the snow. In addition to several treks to Peets in Santa Cruz for the excellent coffee, we also took a trip to The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. If you ever get near this place, don't miss it. It's three floors of science and technology-related gadgets for kids of all ages. One exhibit, Game On, featured dozens of old arcade games (Ms. Pacman, Galaxian, Space Invaders) as well as console games from Atari, Commodore and others I didn't recognize. This exhibit ends today but maybe it'll come to a city near you. There were also fascinating sections on genetics and robotics. But for me, the highlight of the visit was riding the Segway. Pick up an RFID tag at the door and, after you leave, you can see photos of your visit on their web site.
